LINKS  

LINKS is the student branch of St John Ambulance. We provide training in First Aid, offering the opportunity to attend university events and gigs as a first aider. 

We are currently in negotiations with the main branch of St John Ambulance in Cardiff to allow us to First Aid at the Millennium Stadium and other non SU duties.

In September 2006 we had a stall at the Freshers’ Fayre and the current members managed to persuade a large number of potential new members to attend the first LINKS meeting of the term. This meeting was a success with some of the students putting their names down for membership. Since then, 49 of these students have become or intend to become trained members of St John Ambulance, and have participated in union duties such as MotorHead, KT Tunstall, Baby Shambles, Paulo Nutini, The Kaiser Chiefs and Amy Winehouse.  17 members have become qualified for First Aid at Work (FAW) and 14 members have passed the ‘Heartstart’ course.

In the new academic year we hope to make the society even better. Come and join this friendly society learn some great skills, take part in some great duties, and make some great friends.
